Academic Programs and Degrees
- Master of Divinity (MDiv): three-year, ordination-track program considers the relationships and intersections of religions, the arts, race, class, gender, embodiment, ecologies, cultural representations, sexualities, spiritual practices, justice and peace issues, technologies, and global economic realities.
- Master of Arts in Social Change (MASC): two-year program focused on sustainable, spiritually based social activism informed by queer studies, feminist and womanist studies, social ethics, moral injury, liberation theologies, Unitarian Universalist heritage and living tradition, religion and the arts, transformative pedagogies, Postcolonial/ Decolonial/ Transmodern Theories; Climate change and eco-justice; psychology and religion; mental health and disabilities studies; and poverty scholarship.
- Master of Arts (MA, through the GTU): two-year program focused on the interdisciplinary academic study of religion.
- Certificate in Unitarian Universalist Studies and Multi-Religious Studies: one-year program brings SKSM’s particular expertise in the areas of Islamic Studies (Sufism, women’s issues in Quranic studies, intersection of Judaism, Islam and Christianity, Islamic Cultural Studies and Critical Theory),.
Facilities and Resources: SKSM is located in the main core of the GTU campus, near the library, administrative offices and UC Berkeley. Resources include the Earl Morse Wilbur Rare Book Collection and Unitarian Universalist Archives.
